You may have noticed the fine print in our logo. It refers to 1 Peter 1:7.
Beginning in the previous verse and continuing into the next passage, the apostle Peter is sharing the "good news" that we will likely face and endure many trials in our relatively brief time on this earth.
Peter goes on to say the trials show the genuine nature of our faith. He uses the analogy of how fire is used to purify gold (it separates the precious metal from the dross/impurities). In the same way, it is the fire of our trials that purifies us and proves our faith (which also shapes our character to be more like Jesus). The result will be glory and honor…both for us and the Lord.
The fire in a forge is used to purify and heat metal, such that it can be shaped and molded into something far more useful than the stone and raw material from which it started. My kids and I noted the correlation between the fire, forge...and how God's Word is useful to shape, mold, guide and encourage us. From that, we drew forth the Forgewear name for our ministry.
